Dr. Christine Williams

Licensed Psychologist in the Greater Boston Area

Christine M. Williams, PhD is a licensed counseling psychologist based in Salem, Massachusetts. Her work spans private practice, academic research, coaching, and consulting. Her current work focuses on the development of the Catholic ACT in Faith program, a framework integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with Catholic anthropology and spiritual life.

Dr. Williams earned her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron. She spent the first part of her career in college counseling, including a decade in counseling center leadership at Salem State University. There she directed clinical operations and supervised a multidisciplinary training program. Her work also included consulting with university leadership on high-acuity cases, and crisis management and debriefing following critical incidents. She has taught at the graduate and undergraduate level at multiple universities including Northeastern, Salem State, and the University of Akron.

Her research focuses on men's mental health and vocational psychology. She has published in peer-reviewed journals including Psychology of Men and Masculinity and the Journal of Vocational Behavior, contributed chapters to the Handbook of Family Psychology, and co-authored clinical treatment manuals published by Routledge.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Williams serves on the Senior Leadership Team at Mary Queen of Apostles Parish in Salem, directs its healing ministry, and consults for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. She has been an invited speaker for Divine Renovation and St. John's Seminary, and contributed to a ten-part video series on spiritual afflictions produced by the Archdiocese of Boston.

She maintains a limited private practice offering trauma-informed psychotherapy and clinical supervision.
